Where do you go, you go to dictionary.com and realize that you can’t loose calories, they were never tight. You lose them.
If you lost 400 calories a day, it would take you 9 days to lose a pound.

If you vary the rate of your pedaling say five minutes of constant rate, then speed up drastically for two minutes then go about five more, then again with the speed up of pedal strokes it will burn more calories.
It is a little trick for your metabolism. More than total time is the rate at which you are pedaling. If you are just cruising not really working up a sweat, try that varying routine and see how it works. It was something I found useful when I heard about it.

If your goal is to loose wt, then don’t worry about distance…. target heart rate is what you want!!! depending on age (average 115-125 beats per minute for young adults) Get your heart rate to target, then maintain for 15-20 minutes 1-3x/day. This will increase metabolic rate, burning fat….. if cardio stamina is what your looking for, just bump your heart rate up to 125-135 beats /min. P.S you will still burn calories after your work out and over time, you will increase your metabolism.
